Names of Current Family Graduates - 2026

  • Dr. Brittany Bell - (Doctoral) - College Graduate
    • Only a small percentage of educational scholars reach the level of achieving a doctoral degree, and Dr. Bell has accomplished a milestone that many continue to strive toward. Through countless hours of studying, long nights of sacrifice, unwavering faith, perseverance, and determination, she transformed a dream into reality here in 2026 at Capella University.  This doctoral degree represents far more than an academic achievement—it represents purpose, legacy, and the impact of leading by example. Dr. Bell’s journey was not just about earning a title; it was about creating a foundation for the next generation. This achievement was a declaration to her daughter, Tru Taylor, that with faith, hard work, resilience, and commitment, anything is possible.  Dr. Bell, your accomplishment is a testament to your strength, your vision, and your dedication to building a legacy that will inspire your family and community for years to come.
  • Tru Taylor - Middle School Graduate
    • Tru has consistently demonstrated excellence during her 8th Grade Year in high school, maintaining straight A’s while serving as School President for the past two years. She has proven that true leadership is not only measured by accomplishments, but by the kindness, compassion, integrity, and service she shows to others. At graduation, Tru was honored with another $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her outstanding kindness, leadership, commitment to service, and positive impact on her community. This recognition is a beautiful reflection of the person she is and the difference she continues to make in the lives of those around her. As Tru, has now graduated from the 8th grade and prepares to enter high school, she carries with her a Scipio Brown Family legacy of excellence, purpose, and leadership.  She is a reminder that young people can achieve greatness when they lead with character and remain committed to their goals.
  • Arielle Franklin - High School Graduate
    • The Scipio Brown Family proudly congratulates Arielle Franklin on her graduation from high school and celebrates the bright future that lies ahead as she begins her college journey. Arielle has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to leadership, service, and compassion throughout her high school years. As captain of her junior varsity volleyball team, she led by example, inspiring others through teamwork, responsibility, and encouragement. Her volunteer work with hospice patients further reflects her caring heart, allowing her to provide comfort and companionship to individuals and families during some of life's most meaningful moments.
    • Arielle's dream of becoming a Registered Nurse and eventually a Nurse Practitioner is driven by a genuine desire to serve others with empathy, dignity, and excellence. She believes that every patient deserves to be treated not only with exceptional healthcare but also with kindness, respect, and compassion. As a proud descendant of the Scipio Brown Family through her mother, Danielle Franklin, and her great-grandfather, Clifton Fisher, Arielle carries forward a legacy of perseverance, education, and service. We are proud of all she has accomplished and look forward to the positive impact she will make in the lives of countless others. Congratulations, Arielle—we celebrate you and all that is yet to come!
  • Taneyah Cypress - High School Graduate
    • The Scipio Brown Family proudly celebrates Taneyah Cypress on her graduation from Surry County High School with an outstanding 3.8 GPA. As she begins her college journey this fall, Taneyah plans to major in biology while pursuing her dream of attending medical school and becoming an anesthesiologist. Driven by determination, academic excellence, and a passion for science, she hopes to become a first-generation physician and inspire future generations of young Black women to pursue careers in medicine. Her commitment to maintaining Honor Roll throughout high school reflects the discipline, perseverance, and work ethic that will continue to guide her toward achieving her goals.
    • Beyond the classroom, Taneyah has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to serving her school and community. Through her involvement with the National Honor Society, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and numerous volunteer efforts—including supporting the Surry County African American Heritage Society, organizing community service projects, assisting with school athletics, and volunteering at the local animal shelter—she has shown that leadership is rooted in service and compassion. As a proud descendant of the Scipio Brown Family through her mother, Teneda Brown, Taneyah carries forward a rich legacy of resilience, education, and community leadership. We proudly celebrate her accomplishments and look forward to the extraordinary impact she will make in medicine and beyond.
